The Hastings Hotels Management Ambassador Programme

Developing Hospitality Leaders

At Hastings Hotels, we are passionate about investing in the continued professional development of our team. In collaboration with the Ulster University Business School, we developed the Management Ambasssador Programme (MAP) to support leadership development within the hospitality sector.

Skilfully aligned with the values of Hastings, the modules focus on ensuring our managers develop a broad understanding of industry theory in the following areas:

  • Key Performance Indicators
  • Building Team Success
  • Brand and Image
  • Leadership
  • Delivering Service Excellence
  • Managing Change

Running annually from January to June, each month participants engage in interactive classroom learning over two days. To ensure the managers develop a clear understanding and specific application to professional practice, each module is assessed through the completion of an academic essay and personal reflections.

The programme culminates in the presentation of a Change Project to the Directors and General Managers of Hastings Hotels and the programme lecturers from Ulster University. Upon successfully completing of the course, MAP managers graduate with a Certificate in Personal and Professional Development from Ulster University.

For over 10 years, Hastings Hotels has celebrated the success of MAP, with managers developing the confidence and experience to work in senior management positions, including four of our current General Managers.
