What is the difference between a Gift Card and an Experience Gift Card?

Gift Cards
Gift cards are plastic credit card sized cards which can be loaded or topped up to any monetary value. They are redeemable in all Hastings Hotels establishments and have no expiry date. Monetary value Gift Cards can only be sent by post.

Experience Gift Card

An Experience Gift Card is for a specific experience in a specific hotel. They can be sent by post or email, (the method is selected at the time of ordering). Experience Gift Cards have no expiry date.

Post : A plastic credit card sized Gift Card will be issued for the purchase value of the experience (the amount will not be disclosed with the gift card). A postcard, detailing the chosen experience, will be included.

Email : A printable PDF voucher detailing the chosen experience will be emailed to the chosen email address.

What can I buy with a Gift Card?

Any experience … from overnight stays, dining in the restaurant, drinks at the bar, spa treatments and afternoon teas.

How do I redeem a Gift Card?

Make your reservation in the normal manner and present the gift card on arrival. Gift Cards are not redeemable online.

What value do Gift Cards come in?
Any value from £20.00 to £750.00 (in denominations of £10) on each card.

Does the amount have to be spent all at once?
Some or all of the money can be spent, any balance remains on the Gift Card.

Can I send a Gift Card to someone at different address?

Yes – just enter the recipient’s name and address in the delivery section of checkout and we can send a Gift Card straight to them. The occasion can be selected during checkout, and we will include the appropriate card insert.

What are the postage options?

Express Mail : Your order will be posted using Royal Mail’s UK Guaranteed Next Day Delivery Service. A signature is required upon delivery by the recipient. Orders must be placed before 2pm Mon-Fri for next day delivery (excludes Bank & Public Holidays). Orders placed on Fri after 2pm, Sat or Sun will arrive Tuesday.

Standard Mail : Your order will be posted using Royal Mail’s First Class Service, please allow up to 7 working days for processing and UK delivery.
Please note Express Mail and Standard Mail delivery time scales apply to UK deliveries only, international deliveries will take longer.

My gift card has not arrived…

We would advise you to allow approximately 7 working days for delivery of your Gift Card. If your card has still not arrived, please contact us at gifts@hastingshotels.com or on 028 9047 1066.

Can the gift card be emailed?

No, gift cards are plastic swipe cards therefore cannot be emailed. A confirmation email is issued for online purchases, however receipts or email confirmations cannot be redeemed, it is imperative a Gift Card is presented for payment.

How can I check the balance on a Gift Card?
At any Hastings Hotels establishment or by calling 028 9067 4160. The available balance is also shown on the till receipt issued following a transaction.

Is there an expiry date on a Gift Card?

No, gift cards do not have an expiry date.

How do I activate a Gift Card?
No activation is necessary.

What happens if a Gift Card is lost, stolen or damaged?

Gift Cards have cash value and should be safeguarded accordingly. They cannot be redeemed or replaced if lost, stolen or damaged, under any circumstances.

Can I return a Gift Card?

Gift cards cannot be returned or cancelled after the purchase is confirmed. Gift cards are non-refundable.

Where can I redeem an Experience Gift Card?

Experience Gift Cards are purchased for a specific experience at a specific hotel, however it may be used in any of the seven Hastings Hotels towards any experience on payment of the difference.

How do I redeem an Experience Gift Card?

Make your reservation in the normal manner and present the gift voucher on arrival. The customer will be responsible for any shortfall if the price of the experience has increased when the Experience Gift card is redeemed. Experience Gift Cards are not redeemable online.

Can I send an Experience Gift Card to someone at different address?

Yes – just enter the recipient’s name and address in the delivery section of checkout and we can send an Experience Gift Card straight to them.

Can the Experience Gift Card be emailed?

Gift Cards are not redeemable online.

3. It is imperative that the Gift Card is presented for use, otherwise an alternative payment method will be required. Receipts or confirmation emails will not be accepted as valid forms of payment.

4. If the amount on the Gift Card is not redeemed entirely, the remaining balance will remain on the Gift Card.

5. Gift Cards may be used for experiences of a higher value than the amount on the Gift Card, on payment of the difference.

6. Gift Cards are non-refundable and will not be exchanged for cash.

7. Gift Cards have no expiry date.

8. Gift Cards have cash value and should be safeguarded accordingly. Gift Cards will not be redeemed or replaced if lost, stolen or damaged.

9. Hastings Hotels reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of Gift Cards at any time and to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of a Gift Card, if, in its discretion, it deems such action necessary. This does not affect your statutory rights.
