Employee Wellbeing

Life at Hastings

At Hastings Hotels we are passionate about our people, and we know the key to providing our customers with an exceptional hospitality experience is to have exceptional staff. Not only do we want our staff to be the best we want them to feel the best and for every staff member to feel happy, supported and appreciated!

Wellbeing Support

We have developed a wellness programme with Aware NI, which provides mental health training and support for all staff members. Aware NI are one of Northern Ireland’s leading mental health awareness charities so provide the most up to date support and research to help ensure at Hastings Hotels we are providing our staff with the right support they need.

In 2022, Hastings introduced an Employee Assistance Programme provided by Spectrum Life offering 24/7 wellbeing support and confidential counselling for staff members who require it. The EAP also offers support to our staff’s spouse or partner, or any children aged between 16-24 years of age, still living at home. Staff will also receive access to Hastings Wellbeing Hub providing hours of wellbeing content on mental wellbeing, nutrition and exercise. You will be able to track your steps, find recipes, follow guided meditations, log and track calories, find fitness plans to suit your needs and complete courses in stress management, sleeping better, dealing with anxiety and more!

To support the financial wellbeing of our staff we have partnered with Wagestream to offer our staff access to their financial wellbeing app that enables staff to access some of their pay as it’s earnt. It also provides independent financial solutions, tips and tools around money, budgeting and saving.

To support the health and wellbeing of our Managers, all Hastings Managers will receive access to Kingsbridge Diamond Club, an exclusive corporate membership providing Managers with discounted rates on private healthcare services within the Kingsbridge Healthcare Group, access to the “ask a specialist a question” feature and wellbeing resources as well as rapid access to GP referrals.

Lend an Ear

In addition to the work done with Aware NI, Hastings Hotels have developed their own internal support programs. The ‘Lend an Ear’ programme was created in response to provide a safe space where employees could talk about any difficulties they were experiencing and receive support from trained professionals.

Our Committee

Our Wellbeing Committee was formed in October 2022, to support the organisations mission and commitments, made up of 12 Members from across the group. Claire Crummey was appointed as Wellbeing Lead and Committee Chair. The role of the Wellbeing Committee is to provide activities and resources that encourage a culture of health and wellness in our workplace, improving the quality of life of every member of staff.
