There’s so much to see and do in the Mournes this Sumer. With live music, festivals, street performers, family events and so much more, we have selected just a few of the upcoming treats that we are looking forward to… 

Castlewellan Agricultural Show – Saturday 14th July

A great day out for all the family, the Castlewellan show features classes for cattle, sheep, goats, horses, poultry and household pets. Visitors can enjoy browsing through the trade stands and treat themselves to some of Northern Ireland’s fines local produce as suppliers from across the province will be showcasing their wares during the day. Other attractions will include live music, vintage tractor displays, carriage driving, young farm competitions and much more.

 

 

Ulster Fleadh 2018 – 23rd to 29th July

A family celebration of Irish music, song, dance language and tradition for all ages. The Ulster Fleadh celebrates the traditional music heritage of Northern Ireland. It is a welcoming festival for all ages as visitors can come along, watch and listen to some of the world’s finest musical performers for free as the play alongside their contemporaries in relaxing street and pub settings.

 

 

Ulster Pipe Band Competition – 21st July

Pipe bands from across Northern Ireland will compete in this day-long event as they view for the prestigious Ulster title. 70 bands will take part, with over 3,000 individual musicians. The event will take place in Donard Park, just minutes walk from the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa.

 

 

Saturdays on the Prom – 7th July – 25th August

Enjoy live music, acrobats, comedy and street performances on the Newcastle Promenade each Saturday throughout the Summer. Performers include Dr Nick (7th July) with a high energy mix of everything from unicycling to fie-juggling, master if manipulation, Grant Goldie (28th July) and the Raven Sisters on Saturday 4th August.

 

 

Music at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa – Various

Ireland’s leading country superstar, Nathan Carter will return to the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa on Saturday 28th July. With a unique blend of Celtic, country and pop music, fans of the crooner should not miss the chance to see Nathan back on stage in Newcastle this Summer.
