I have a disability, will suitable arrangements be in place for me?

Yes, please telephone the Human Resource Department at the hotel where your interview is to take place to discuss your individual requirements, and wherever possible we will ensure special arrangements/adjustments are made prior to the interview.

What is an NI Number?

Everyone in the UK over the age of 16 years is required to have a National Insurance Number. This number is a unique personal number and is issued in the UK by the Department of Work and Pensions. This number is used by an employer to deduct tax and national insurance contributions.

Is my salary on my contract gross or net salary?

The salary is gross or the total salary. Tax, National Insurance contributions and if applicable accommodation costs have to be deducted from the salary.

How much tax and national insurance will be deducted from my salary?

The amount of tax and national insurance depends on individual circumstances and salary level, a deduction of around 25 – 30% from salary can be expected. This is only an estimate.

Can my salary be paid into an overseas bank account?

Salaries must be paid into a UK Bank Account. If you do not have a UK Bank account, on your first day you will be given details of a local bank who will open an account for you and you will be given assistance to complete the paperwork if required.

Will I be provided with a uniform?

Unless otherwise told at interview, you will be provided with a uniform. You should wear black, closed in, leather type shoes and either plain black or skin coloured socks. If you have long hair, this must be tied back. Make-up and perfumes should be kept to a minimum.
