Chef De Partie (Full Time)

Duties
The successful applicant will be assisting the senior chefs in the busy kitchens. To prepare, cook and present meals to the hotel’s standards and to the agreed cost levels, with emphasis on presentation, hygiene and economy. To be fully conversant and comply with the health and safety and hygiene regulations.
Previous Experience
Must have previous experience at a similar level gained within a high quality catering operation
Qualifications
Must have NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or an equivalent qualification, and hold a recognised food hygiene certificate
Hours of Work
35 hrs per week (exc.breaks) 5 shifts out of 7 – days, evenings and weekends

Commis Chef – Full Time

Duties
This is a junior position for someone wishing to pursue a career in food preparation and cooking. The successful candidate will assist kitchen chefs in all kitchen duties.
Previous Experience
Applicants must hold a recognised basic food hygiene certificate and have an NVQ level 1 (or equivalent) in catering. Previous experience gained from a quality catering establishment is desirable
Hours of Work
35 hours excluding breaks. (5 shifts out of 7 including weekends)

Sous Chef (Full Time)

Duties
The successful applicant will assist the Head Chef in running the busy Main Kitchen and Lighthouse lounge kitchen. This position will carry responsibilities for the full range of kitchen activities including training and developing kitchen staff to company standard and implementation and monitoring of food hygiene/ safety regulations.

Applicants must have previous experience with food stock takes and food ordering.

TRAINEE MANAGER

Duties
Our Trainee Manager Programme represents an enviable opportunity to establish a career in hospitality. The purpose of the Trainee Manager Programme is to take highly motivated and determined people with a passion for the hospitality industry and develop them into first-class members of the Hastings Hotels Group Management Team. The training programme consists of work based learning as well as formal internal training courses. Refer to ‘Training Programmes’ under the careers section.
Previous Experience
No previous experience is required, although some experience in a service environment will be an advantage.
Qualifications
Candidates must be able to demonstrate high levels of numeracy and literacy (to GCSE ‘A’ Grade or equivalent)
Skills
You will need to have a passion for the Hospitality Industry. In addition you will be required to demonstrate confidence, energy, willingness to learn, personal drive, flexibility, the ability to make decisions, very strong customer service orientation and an alignment with the Groups Values.
Hours of Work
You will be required to complete 35 hours per week, worked over 5 days out of seven, including public holidays. Shift working will form part of the normal working pattern.
